Studies (e-Visa ED)

The Visa ED thailand is a type of educational visa for foreigners who wish to pursue a study program in Thailand. This visa is applicable for internships, Thai language learning, school exchanges, lecturers and training programs.

To obtain this visa, applicants must be enrolled in an international school or recognized educational institution in Thailand. Schools must have a valid operating permit issued by the Thai Ministry of Education.

The ED visa allows holders to stay in Thailand for the duration of their study program. Holders of this visa can also work part-time during their stay in Thailand, but must apply for a work authorization from the Thai Ministry of Labor.

Volunteer / Family / Accompanying person (e-Visa O)

The O Thai visa is a type of visa intended for foreigners who wish to enter Thailand for volunteering, visiting Thai family members or to accompany an e-Visa OA, ED or B visa holder.

For the volunteers, a letter of invitation from the volunteer organization in Thailand may be required. For the visitors from Thai family members, a letter of invitation from the person to Thailand or proof of family relationship may be required. The Thai O visa allows holders to stay in Thailand for a maximum period of 90 days.

O visa holders are not allowed to work in Thailand, but they can volunteer for a charitable organisation or a non-profit business.
