THE different types of Thai visas
Thailand offers its visitors several visa options for varying lengths of stay. Visa applicants can choose the most appropriate procedure depending on the specifics of their trip to the country.
Indeed, there are two types of tourist visas, namely the TR Single visa and the Multiple TR Visa. As its name suggests, the first allows the tourist to have a single entry into Thai territory. In this case, the maximum length of stay should not exceed 60 days. Unlike the second formula where the visa applicant could benefit from a trip with a validity of 6 months.
For stays exceeding two months in Thailand, the tourist is invited to choose other types of visas. To do this, you must choose between non-immigrant visa O, B or ED. These procedures are intended for people who visit the country for family reasons, studying, providing professional services or for humanitarian missions.
The Thai government also wants to attract people from over 50 years old. To achieve this, local authorities have created a new type of long stay visas which offer tourists the ability to stay in the country for a period of one year (OA type) at 5 years (OX type).
