How much does a visa for Thailand cost?

The cost of a visa for Thailand depends on the type of stay and the period that you plan to spend in the country. The following prices are expressed in euros. So do not hesitate to convert according to the currency of your country.

Tourist visas (e-Visa TR)

If you wish to obtain a single-entry tourist visa for a period of 60 days - extendable to 90 days - you will need to pay 35,00 € for consular fees (excluding service charges). For the “multi-input” type – 3 maximum – count 175,00 € for consular fees, excluding service charges. All for a 60-day stay. This visa is valid for 6 months.

Business / Business visas (e-Visa B)

The consular fee for a Business visa is 70,00 €This also excludes handling fees. This is a one-off entry that entitles you to a 90-day stay.

Study visas (e-Visa ED)

In this case, the traveler will have to pay 70,00 € for consular fees, excluding intermediation fees. As its name suggests, this visa is intended for anyone wishing to undertake a short training course in Thailand (internship, learning Thai, business school, etc.). It is valid for 90 days.

Other types of Visa for Thailand

This is known as an O-type e-visa. It applies, for example, to volunteers who wish to accompany holders of type ED, O-A, O-X or B visas. Visit 70,00 € for consular fees. All for a period of 90 days.

There is another special case which concerns travelers over 50 years old. This is a visa type of O, OA or OX. There are three scenarios:

  • The O visa for short stays: single entry, 90 days, consular fees of 70,00 €excluding service charges
  • The O-A visa for long stays: multiple entries, duration of 1 year, consular fees of 175,00 €excluding service charges
  • The O-X visa for very long stays: multiple entries, a duration of 5 years - extendable for a further 5 years -, consular fees of 350,00 €excluding service charges

What documents must be provided to apply for a visa for Thailand?

No matter what type of Thailand visa you want to obtain, there are certain documents you need to have. Let us just note that some travelers do not need this precious pass to cross borders. In total, there are 93 nationalities, including France. However, this exemption is only valid for tourist stays of up to 60 days. Beyond that, you will need a visa. In short, here are the documents you must have for your request:

  • A scan of a passport valid for 6 months from the date of arrival
  • A scan of the residence permit for refugees
  • A passport photo (color)
  • A photo where you hold your passport next to your face
  • Proof of address
  • A bank statement that shows a credit balance of at least 1.500,00 €. Or, provide a pay slip. It must be at least 30 days old
